Job Description

BS degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent work experience. Solid experience in Technical Infrastructure support and server administration in a mid-sized environment; supporting and troubleshooting distributed applications, software, and operating systems; and administering and troubleshooting issues with messaging middleware and message brokers. Knowledge of enterprise platforms. Desire to keep up with modern technology and make recommendations. Knowledge of network architecture and protocols. Experience with enterprise administrative scripting using a major scripting language and experience with software deployment. Travel may be required in accordance with business needs. A minimum of 2 years of experience.




The team works globally 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. In Mexico, shifts of 8 hours a day from Monday to Sunday are covered.

Given the nature of the work, the FLS Team engineer must have experience in the support area and have the following skills\:

Oracle database administration.

Administration of application servers such as Weblogic, Apatche, etc.

Knowledge in operating systems such as Unix, Linux, Windows, etc.

Knowledge of programming languages. C , Java, shell scripting, python, etc.

Ability to reverse engineer.

Problem resolution.

Working under pressure.

Good communication.

List of activities / responsibilities to be performed by the FLS Team engineer in Mexico\:
- English language proficiency.

- Arrive on time for work.

- Attend OWC (calls) for the resolution of tickets, patches, issues, etc.

- Collaborate with other teams to solve problems in Linux environments.

- Log collection and analysis to identify problems.

- Documentation of processes for the internal use of the equipment.

- Application of patches of databases and Fusion Apps in several environments

     - Monitoring dashboards

    - Troubleshooting problems generated in the dashboard

    - Creating tickets and tracking them for troubleshooting

    - Bug creation and log collection

-Creation / Tracking and resolution of tickets for databases (AWR, queries execution, script execution, exports, space management, troubleshooting)

-Creation / Tracking and resolution of tickets for Middleware (Log collection and analysis, configuration changes, troubleshooting)

-Creation / Monitoring and resolution of CRs (Change Requests), to make changes in the environments of PROD and NONPROD

-HO (reception and delivery of guards) with teams from India to ensure the correct exchange of information and monitoring of activities (tickets, calls, bugs, patches, etc.)

-Attention and monitoring of the different communication channels mail, emergency call, slack (fls team, MX team, BofA, Santander, Bay, etc.) among others.

-Read and be aware of the documentation of the team. - Confluence, KM Documents,

-Follow the work guidelines - example\: Clean Room Requirements.

-Communicate the activities carried out in the team channel. (working X request, joining call, request help, etc)

-Attend and participate in work / team meetings. (weekly team meeting, Patching preparation, etc)

-Teamwork.

-Participate proactively (process improvements / new tasks, example\: script generation for log searches, health checks, troubleshooting of Middleware processes and databases)

-Continuous training (take online courses, documents, books, etc.)


!|!Work with a world class team to provide enterprise-wide, Oracle Database Administration support for production systems and provide DBA services to application development teams, including database design, database generation, coding, and database production support. Provide DBA support with a high degree of customer service, technical expertise, and timeliness. Provide accurate and creative solutions to user problems of moderate nature to ensure user productivity.

Provide Development and/or Production support. This includes creating primary database storage structures, designing and creating primary objects, modifying database structure as necessary for enhancements or performance, creating documentation, designing interfaces, database objects, and creating plans. Monitor and optimize performance of the database, plan for backup and recovery of the database, and allocate system storage and plan future storage needs. Create database-related scripts and programs to support development and production environments. Research, evaluate, design, test, recommend, and plan implementation of new or improved RDBMS, ETL and database tools.

Job duties are varied and complex utilizing independent judgment. May have project lead role. 5 years of experience supporting relational databases as a DBA, with multiple distributed relational DBSM*s or a depth and focus in Oracle and related tools. Exposure and practice at using the DBMS to optimize performance of large databases for enterprise use is preferred. Experience with an organization with a key 24 X 7 reliance on its database is desirable. BS or equivalent desired.
