Manager, Global Business Unit Development Support Services
LOCATION\: Naples, FL; Columbia, MD and Austin, TX preferred 
 
Overview\:
The Global Business Unit (GBU) Cloud Development Services mission is to accelerate cloud transformation of GBU product portfolios.  The GBU Engineering Support Team for the Food & Beverage GBU and Hospitality GBU carries out that mission for products in the hospitality and food and beverage industries.  The candidate for this position will manage a global team of experienced Oracle Fusion Middleware and Oracle database administrators who provide services supporting complete development project lifecycle to organizations within the Global Business Units.

General Description\:
The candidate will work with internal customer organizations including engineering teams on architectural design discussions while also providing deployment and maintenance of application environments which consist of hundreds of servers used by software development, quality assurance, sustaining engineering, consulting, and presales organizations.   

Essential Duties & Responsibilities\:
  • Manage project scheduling and resource allocation to serve customer delivery requirements.
  • Manage a team of skilled technical resources to build and maintain critical environments used daily by GBU organizations.
  • Assist with creation and verification of documentation for platform components of application stacks relating to product releases.
  • Work with engineering, cloud enablement, and application management teams to standardize deployments and configurations of environments.
  • Assist with platform support escalations from external production environments.
  • Assist in identifying technology solutions for common deployment challenges.
  • Assist in evaluating new platform versions and solutions as potential additions to application stacks.
  • Other duties may be assigned.
Qualifications\:
  • Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 2 years of management experience.
  • Familiarity with and experience installing Oracle Fusion Middleware products such as Oracle WebLogic Server, Oracle Access Manager, Oracle Identity Manager, Oracle Internet Directory, Oracle HTTP Server, Oracle Service Bus.
  • Familiarity with and experience installing Oracle Database Server.
    Leadership of technical team and project management experience required.
  • Ability to work in Windows and Oracle Linux environments with equal comfort.
  • Familiarity with HGBU Opera and Opera Cloud products desired.

!|!Manage a team that designs, develops, troubleshoots and debugs software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc.

As a manager of the software engineering division, you will apply your knowledge of software architecture to manage software development tasks associated with developing, debugging or designing software applications, operating systems and databases according to provided design specifications. Build enhancements within an existing software architecture and occasionally suggest improvements to the architecture.

Leads a specialized area which may have diverse functional elements. Frequently interacts with supervisors and/or functional peer group managers. May interact with senior management. Demonstrated leadership and people management skills. Strong communication skills, analytical skills, thorough understanding of product development. BS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. Typically one year of software engineering or related experience.
