Solution Director, Commercial, Public Sector and State & Local Government, Enterprise Architecture - Consulting Solution Director


The Enterprise Solution Architect leads the implementation discussion, scope, approach, leverages deep dive experts and helps define the overall win for the pursuit. The Enterprise Solution Architect is the overall technology quarterback as it relates to Oracle implementation services.  

To be successful in this position the team member should have the following capabilities\:

  • Must have demonstrated ability to gather analyze requirements, to research, to conceptualize, and to deliver Enterprise IT architectures for large Enterprise and/or Government agencies
  • Must have expertise as an enterprise IT architecture (including architecture vision, business architecture, information system architecture, and technology architecture), software security, configuration management, integration, and interface design, development, production cut-over and support.
  • Command a wide knowledge of Oracle and industry technologies coupled with a deep depth in any particular discipline (e.g Database, BI, Security, Cloud, etc) demonstrating credibility and become trusted advisor to our customers
  • Ability to lead, define, persuade, present, and drive the Oracle technology solution implementation discussion and scope.
  • As an enterprise solution architect must have experience working with the consulting sales, license sales, license architects, and delivery pillar SA's, Risk, Bid managers and the RFx team in pursuit of Oracle Consulting implementation bids.
  • Have an understanding of consultative selling and/or solution selling skills.
  • Have an understanding of the procurement process for services, risk review, bid preparation; Prepare and validate estimates; Be part of the bid transition team from sales to hand-off delivery
  • Be able to define the scope, objectives, approach, assumptions for implementation services and articulate those into an ordering document
  • Work with the consulting sales team to help define an account approach, assess and qualify the business opportunity, participate in customer meetings.
  • Work with other pillar solution architects while owning the overall solution
  • Grow the overall size of the services opportunity and/or Oracle product consumption
  • Excellent presentation skills for internal and external audiences at the 'C' level; Must have ability to communicate with various stakeholders, and to evangelize the IT and business architecture visions

Required Technology Skills\:


Must have over 10 years experience as an enterprise IT architect, specialized in Oracle as well as 3rd party Database, Security, Network, Network Security, Fusion Middleware (FMW), Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), Supply Chain Management (SCM), Financial Management, Human Capital Management (HCM), IT and Business Integration, Infrastructure as Service (IaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS), Software as Service (SaaS), and Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) solutions.


Enterprise architecture certification (TOGAF), Oracle Cloud Infrastructure(OCI), or Azure/AWS certifications would be nice, but not required.

!|!As an acknowledged authority within Oracle, this senior-level consulting professional has a breadth of knowledge and understanding of solutions, industry best practices, multiple business processes or technology designs across multiple product families. Collaborates with the consulting sales team to design innovative solutions that have industry-wide impact.

Analyzes business needs to ensure Oracle solution meets customer objectives. Exercises creativity and independent judgment and business acumen in selecting methods and techniques to design non-routine and very complex business solutions utilizing Oracle products and technology to meet customer needs. As a position of technical and professional influence, this individual frequently operates at the leading edge of technology. Recommends and justifies enhancements to Oracle products to meet complex customer needs. As a thought leader and customer advisor, influences customer leadership in acceptance of Oracle solutions and services to facilitate the closing of consulting deals. Contributes to non-routine and very complex statements of work, work breakdown structure and/or level of effort and staff plans. Presents and demonstrates solutions to customers. Builds and maintains a network and up-to-date specific industry or product knowledge. Responsible for transitioning deal knowledge to implementation team. Coordinates a pursuit team of subject matter experts. Leads the domain specific solution design aspects of engagement(s) ensuring high quality and integrated business solutions. Knowledgeable of competition and external factors that may influence Oracle's competitive position. Resolves highly complex customer issues by recommending solutions. Ensures enterprise solution spans across the customer*s business processes. Designs innovative solutions that maximize the use of standard product capabilities to meet customer objectives.

10 years of experience relevant to this position including 5 years of consulting experience. Prior team lead or manager experience. Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience. Broad product, technology or industry expertise. Ability to craft and articulate strategic solutions. In-depth knowledge of implementation methodologies and best practices. Knowledge of competitive & partner products, technology and solutions. Proficient in using selling and negotiation techniques and tools. Ability to travel as needed.
