The Greater China tax team is a key part of Oracle’s world-class operation and is closely integrated with tax organization headquartered in San Francisco Bay area. This progressive and innovative team comprises a dynamic group of tax professionals responsible for Oracle’s tax planning, business partnering, tax compliance, M&A integration, transfer pricing and tax controversies as well as supporting and liaising with other functions in the region.
We are looking for a highly motivated individual to assist the team in the areas of tax compliance management for China entities.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
l Review and manage monthly/quarterly/annual tax filings for China entities under his/her portfolio
l Tax invoice management in relation to monthly and annual tax filings
l Work with Finance and statutory auditors and review tax related disclosure during year-end statutory audits in China
l Work with other team members to support various compliance reporting requirements from APAC region and US HQ in relation to his/her responsible entities
l Identify the areas to be improved in the course of tax filing review and coordinate with relevant stakeholders to improve tax process & policies
l Manage the tax registrations/renewal and tax filing set-up for his/her responsible entities
l Provide advice/support on tax issues arising from the business operation of his/her responsible entities to ensure tax compliance
l Manage ad-hoc requirements and queries from local tax bureaus for his/her responsible entities
l Support the manager or work together with other team members on some ad-hoc tax advisory projects
l Maintain cordial and professional relationship with local tax bureaus
RELEVANT EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
l 5-6 years tax experience obtained working as a full time tax professional for multinational, or in one of the Big Four;
l Significant tax and financial knowledge and experience in the area of indirect and direct taxes;
l Thorough knowledge of business controls in a tax environment;
l Thorough knowledge of tax accounting in Group Accounts;
l Ability to organize and manage many tasks simultaneously;
l Strong leadership & coaching skills;
l Sound judgment and good interpersonal skills;
l Comprehensive understanding of Oracle financial accounting and reporting directives;
l Strong communication skills and can demonstrate necessary authority in different situations; and
l Strong sense of responsibility, proactive and dedicated.
COMPETENCIES
l Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Tax;
l Qualification of Certified Public Accountant or Certified Tax Agent – preferred
l Fluent in PRC tax regulations, tax practices and accounting principles; and
l Fluent in English, written and oral.
Compiles information for statutory reports as well as internal tax reporting. Ensure accurate and timely filing of tax returns.Be an integral partner in Oracle's business decisions to enhance shareholder value by providing tax-related advice globally to all business units. Assist with governmental audits, internal audits and/or fiscal recharges. Ensure company complies with worldwide statutory tax reporting specifications. Focus areas include transfer pricing and intercompany transactions. identify international assignment tax issues for employees working in another country. Develop strategies to minimize corporate tax through use of tax laws and regulations. May be involved with tax implications of mergers and acquisitions.
Leading contributor individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others. Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in area of specialization. Maintain current knowledge of all tax laws affecting Oracle. Detail oriented, analytical, and able to manage multiple tasks in a fast paced environment. 8 plus years experience in public accounting firm and/or high technology industry. CPA and or MS/MBA tax preferred.
