Job Description

Department Description:
Japan based, outbound product management team with responsibility spanning across all Oracle Applications Products for ERP. A customer-oriented, field-facing team reporting into the applications development organization at Oracle headquarters in Redwood Shores, California.

Job Description:
As a Director in the product development division, you will manage the ERP family for Japan from an outbound product management perspective and drive new application services launch. You will also support revenue objectives acting as key Product Development sponsor for the region for the product line.

  • Envision and communicate product strategy and functionality to Oracle’s customer base
  • Support application services launch by actively recruiting customers, ensuring successful roll-out and making customers references
  • Achieve revenue objectives through active participation in deal cycles, sales and customer support
  • Gather and analyse information from customers to define product specifications and review design specifications
  • Review and ensure quality of product collateral
  • Train the field and partners on product

Job Responsibilities:

  • Engaging with Japan field management and field business development organizations in determining success strategies for Oracle’s customer base for ERP
  • Developing the regional Oracle ERP product strategy
  • Initiating and fostering relationships between product management and product strategy groups of Oracle’s product development organization and Oracle’s Japanese customers
  • Driving bidirectional transfer of information between Oracle’s Japanese customers, the field, and the development organization
  • Driving quarterly operations review summits between the field and development
  • Delivering future-oriented ERP product roadmap briefings to customers, partners and regional Oracle personnel
  • Collecting and prioritizing regional ERP product requirements

Job Requirements

  • You should be an ERP family domain expert (primarily in Financials) for ERP Cloud services and understand how ERP integrates with other Oracle Applications.
  • Through extensive work with customers, you’ll have a detailed knowledge of how customers implement ERP processes.
  • You’ll be educated to at least degree level, with proven experience of enterprise software, including ERP, and management experience
  • You should have an excellent understanding of the software applications development cycle, preferably through working within development or a related discipline
  • You should be a trained accountant with a successful track record in implementing Oracle ERP Cloud and have a deep understanding of best practice processes in relation to fundamental design concepts (enterprise structure, chart of accounts, etc).

  • You will have proven repeated success in outbound-oriented, customer-facing roles
  • You will have proven expertise in (and an affinity for) sales performance management and forecasting
Lead a team that acts as the central resource and driving force for the design, process, manufacturing, test, quality and marketing of product(s) as they move from conception to distribution. Organize interdepartmental activities ensuring completion of the project/product on schedule and within budget.

As a member of the product development division, you will specify, design and implement major changes to existing software architecture. Define project needs. Build and execute unit tests and unit test plans. Review integration and regression plans created by QA. Communicate with QA and porting engineering to ensure consistency, testability and portability across products in general.

Provide leadership and expertise in the development of new products/services/processes, frequently operating at the leading edge of technology. Recommends and justifies major changes to existing products/services/processes. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 8 or more years of software engineering or related experience.
