The MySQL Global Business Unit is looking for a qualified Sr  Sales Manager/Director to lead a team of Cloud sales representatives selling the MySQL Database (MDS) and HeatWave (HW) Analytics Cloud Services to private and public sector organizations across Japan. 
This is a high-profile, high exposure opportunity for someone wanting to work with one of the fastest growing Cloud services across Oracle selling the most desired open source database in the world. 
Ideal candidates will have proven track record of success selling and/or managing teams selling cloud services and should be able to comprehend and articulate core cloud principles to customers, prospects, partners, and internal stakeholders.
Key attributes necessary for success in the role is the ability to quickly hire and train a growing team of sales reps and must be able to effective coach and mentor new and experienced reps.  In addition, the role requires extensive collaboration across multiple lines of business including evangelizing to other internal senior managers. 

Qualified candidates should have a minimum of 5 year sales and/or sales management experience successfully selling software and/or cloud services to organizations ranging from SMBs through the Fortune 100.

Specific Job Requirements:

  • Hire and train new and existing sales representatives to position Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (“OCI)”, MySQL Database Service (“MDS”), and the Heatwave Analytics Service (“HW”);
  • Consistently mentor and coach new and existing sales personnel including the ability to support training on key sales tools including Territory Intelligence, Market Intelligence, Eloqua, Datafox/Discover.org, Sales Cloud, and LinkedIn
  • Ability to quickly develop, execute, and routinely modify a territory wide 30, 60, 90 day regional plan and prepare/deliver quarterly business reviews;
  • Ability to consolidate and prepare weekly sales forecasts using the appropriate inputs and ORCL methodology
  • Ability to operate independently to anticipate, solve and/or provide recommendations to complex situations
  • Address and solve customer satisfaction issues;
  • Demonstrated leadership skills including motivating employees and implementing a results based culture;
  • Ability to communicate (written and verbal) and present MySQL Cloud offerings to other teams within Oracle; especially within the broader Oracle Cloud Team;
  • Ability to develop and nurture working relationships with peers both within the GBU and across the broader Oracle Cloud Sales Organization
The primary focus is to direct, plan, manage and develop a team of OD Prime Sales Representatives/Managers. Develops and implements a comprehensive strategy that maximizes Oracle's opportunities across a subset of products, product lines or services directly or via partners to small-and medium sized accounts.

Manages a team of OD Prime Sales Representatives/Managers for a territory/region. Participates as a team member in strategic and tactical planning for the division. Develops working relationships with license, consulting, education, and/or support field managers to develop joint account plans. Develops and executes strategic plans utilizing resources from various marketing and sales functions to maximize revenue with frequent guidance from the area manager or director. Responsible for coaching, performance management, and career development of staff. Handles escalations and participates directly in complex sales situations to negotiate and/or resolve disputes and ensure customer satisfaction. Conducts sales forecasts, territory planning, demand generation, deal strategy development and trend analysis.

Assists in the development of short, medium, and long term plans to achieve strategic objectives. Regularly interacts across functional areas with senior management or executives to ensure unit objectives are met. Ability to influence thinking or gain acceptance of others in sensitive situations. Through understanding of Oracle's products and services. Ability to lead sales team in all areas of the sales cycle. Effective written and verbal communication skills. Ability to negotiate price, other concessions and terms and conditions. Strong quantitative, analytical, and conflict resolution ability. Degree in Business or Computer Science preferred. 7+ years sales or sales management experience.
